Here is a behind the scenes video from our latest on location pinup girl photo shoot. We borrowed an old rat rod pick up truck and stuck it in an alley downtown. I wanted to try out my new try adapter with my Nikon SB910 flashes. It worked pretty damn well! TONS of light!

Black and White Photos Never Go Out of Style - Boudoir Louisville

It's true! Black and white photos never ever ever go out of style. What is out of style are those black and white photos that have one item in full color. If you are a photographer and are doing this, STOP IT! They are as outdated as the wedding photos of the couple superimposed in the wine glasses.
Anyway, done with that rant. Our client wanted some great black and white images to add to her custom printed book we had printed for her. She was giving it to her hubby as an anniversary gift. I'm sure he flipped when he started looking through the book!

Pinup Girl Housewife with Boudoir Louisville

What a cute pinup dress! We have been seeing some really awesome pinup style clothes coming into the studio from mainstream clothing stores like JC Penny's, TJ Maxx, Macy's etc... It's a good time to be a pinup girl I guess! As soon as we saw THIS dress, we knew we would shoot it in a fun and flirty way. Our client was new to pinup and, just like 90% of our clients, was completely terrified! After sitting through hair and makeup, I think she was a little bit more at ease and ready to shoot. Well, she knocked it out of the park! She was so much fun to shoot with and had the perfect pinup look!

I wrote a book! Shoot Sexy is now available EVERYWHERE!

It's true! I just had my very first "real" book published! This isn't some lame-o self published book, it's a real book! About a year ago I was contacted by a publisher in London. They had been following my work for a while and asked me to write a book on pinup and boudoir photography. I said yes! After all the contracts were out of the way, it was time to start writing. The book features 400-ish of my images and full write ups from some of our favorite shoots. Are you a HUGE photo nerd? I also included a bunch of lighting diagrams just for you!
The book is available at literally EVERY online bookstore as well as some "brick and mortar" stores. If you are a bit more high tech, you can download the electronic version through the Kindle Store, iTunes and Nook.

Boudoir Louisville loves curves!

What a great client! We had so much fun shooting with her. I posted a few of her pinup photos in a previous blog post, but forgot to include some of her gorgeous boudoir images. She had such awesome curves to shoot. Curves really do make the photos when shooting boudoir. There is nothing worse than shooting a client that has no curves! Don't get me wrong, we have our tricks to give girls curves while we are shooting them...
