Yeah yeah... I know it's February, but when a client came to the Boudoir Louisville studio with a surf board under her arm, we just had to snap some surfer girl pinups!
What could be more fun than posing with your boyfriends surf board? I'm still wondering how she snuck it out of the house without him noticing!
I bet he was SHOCKED when he saw the pics!

The Pretty Things Peepshow rolled into Louisville a few nights ago. The whole Boudoir Louisville gang decided to check it out. When Donny Vomit, the MC, requested a volunteer, I knew one of us HAD to help out.

Boudoir and Pinup Photography and Marketing Workshop

Want to know how I shoot my boudoir and pinup sessions?
Starting a boudoir business or just want to take yours to the next level?

Boudoir Louisville now offers a boudoir and pinup photography workshop.
We run our workshops a little differently than most. Instead of attending a workshop with a room full of other photographers, we limit our workshops to just one person at a time. That's right, when you sign up for our workshop, you will receive one-on-one attention for the entire workshop! 
We will teach you EVERYTHING you need to know to run your own boudoir business. We will not hold anything back.

We can schedule a workshop anytime of the year. Whatever fits your needs best.

We have our workshop broken down into two days. We can pack it all into one day, but due to our VERY laid back approach, we prefer to break it up.

Day one, you will be in studio for one of our "Bombshell" photo shoots from start to finish.
When the model arrives, our hair and makeup artist will go to work. During this time, our team will style the shoot. When the model is ready, we start shooting. When I say "WE", I mean you and I. Bring your camera! The entire photo shoot will be a questions & answers / hands-on kinda thing. Together, we will shoot several boudoir outfits and scenes. If you are also interested in pinup, we can get into that as well.

Day two, you will learn how to market your boudoir business. We will sit down in our lounge and go over what it takes to successfully attract clients to your new boudoir business. I will teach you how to use social networking as a way to sell your services. We can also critique your current website and images. What you learned in day one is of no use if you can't sell it!
If you have any questions from the first day, or want to go over additional lighting scenarios etc... we can revisit that as well.

Behind the scenes video: Boudoir Louisville visits the Neon Boneyard in Las Vegas!

If you get super bored today, give our behind the scenes video a look. We shot this video on location in Las Vegas at the Neon Boneyard. It's a museum dedicated to preserving all of the vintage Las Vegas neon signs. I'm sure you have seen this location in movies as well as on tv.
We had such a great time shooting here! I still can't believe we pulled off 2 outfit changes as well as full lighting for each set in under an hour! We ended up getting around 50 awesome photos from this shoot. Check the photo blog post from the Neon Boneyard to give some of them a look.

Burlesque performer Go Go Amy drops by Boudoir Louisville

If you are familiar with the Pretty Things Peepshow, you know who Go Go Amy is.
She is the main performer and creator of the Peepshow. If you're a fan of classic burlesque and vaudeville, do yourself a HUGE favor and look these folks up. They go on tour a few times per year and are always entertaining.
Anyway, Go Go Amy has been to the Boudoir Louisville studio in the past for a photo shoot. When she booked a show in Louisville again, we knew we had to get together for another shoot.
She is great on camera!
We shot 4 sets of pics, one of which includes flaming pasties! Watch our blog for pics and a video of this!

Mary's boudoir photo shoot

Mary was so much fun to shoot with! She came into the studio a little nervous, but after our gang acted like a bunch of goofballs for a few minutes, she was relaxed and good to go!
Mary was doing this shoot for her hubby. Word on the street is that he loved the pics!

Boudoir Louisville visits the Neon Boneyard in Las Vegas!

About 10 years ago I started hearing rumors about this magical place in Las Vegas where they stored all the old neon signs. The place was a mystery. A few years ago, it was decided that a museum of sorts would be opened to showcase all of these signs. The Neon Boneyard was born!
Today, the Neon Boneyard gives tours and also rents out the whole place by the hour for photo shoots as well as movies.
I've been wanting to visit this place forever! What could be more perfect than shooting classic Las Vegas themed pinup girl photos at the Neon Boneyard?
I booked flights for the whole Boudoir Louisville team and we made a long weekend out of it.
I had originally booked the place for 2 hours, but things got a little goofed up.
The day of our shoot, Vegas was experiencing sustained 40mph winds with 60mph gusts.
When this happens, they shut the whole place down. The signs are BIG and flat and could blow over crushing our pinup girl!
This meant that we flew to Vegas for no reason, we were not going to be able to shoot.
With a little fast-talkin' and a couple bats of the eyelashes, we figured out a game plan.
We arrived at 7am before the park opened. We shot for an hour then hopped on our airplane back to Louisville! Somehow we managed to shoot 2 outfits in various locations in this short amount of time.
We also shot a HILARIOUS behind the scenes video as well. As soon as I have time to edit the thing, I will be posting it to our blog as well.

Boudoir Photographer gets shot by Boudoir Louisville!

Such a dramatic blog post title!
It's true, I did shoot another boudoir photographer. IT'S NOT WHAT YOU THINK!!!
Sarah has her own boudoir photography business up in Michigan. When she approached me about booking a shoot, she asked if this would be a problem. I have pretty strict rules in place and do not shoot other photographers that do business within 200 miles of our studio.
Since she lives WAY up north, we booked the shoot.
Sarah's husband always asks her when he will be receiving pictures like this? She shoots them, but has never been in front of the camera.
Well, that has changed!
Sarah, ya did great!

Leslie had such great outfits. So much detail on all of her wardrobe changes. This was my favorite set from her photo shoot a few days ago. We tried a few new poses that I had never done before. Not sure why I have never tried this pose, it looked GREAT on Leslie.

We have been on a roll with all these snazzy redheads!
Rosey shot with us last week. She booked her boudoir photo shoot so that she would have an awesome gift to give her man this Valentine's Day. She was great to shoot with. So much personality!
I'm not quite sure why I gave her an old telephone to use during this set of pics, but it kinda worked out great! Pretty girl laying in bed on the phone. I know whenever I am away from home and call my wife, this is EXACTLY how I picture her on the other end. Decked out in lingerie!
